DDRio has a written doctrine on weather, and it fits in one sentence: safety is the crew's call, the choice is yours. Below, everything that happens to your booking in each situation.
If it rains and sailing is safe
The tour goes ahead. And the choice is yours: board, change the date, or cancel — no penalty in any of the three. A rainy day suits some people and not others; we don't decide that for you.
If the sea says no
DDRio cancels the departure. You choose between rebooking or a full refund. The call is the crew chief's, on the day, with the boat in the water.
If you change your mind
With 24 hours' notice or more, we refund the deposit. With less than 24 hours, or a no-show, the deposit isn't refunded, but you can rebook for R$ 30 per person.

The crew looks at rain, swell at the bay mouth, wind and gusts — in reverse order of importance: gusts weigh most. Luna, our assistant, reads the forecast four times a day and sums up on the site what the sky should look like at sunset. But no forecast decides a departure. The crew chief decides, on the day, looking at the sea.
Guanabara Bay is sheltered: most rainy days in Rio are perfectly sailable, and many turn into memorable trips. That's why the first case above exists — and why it's your choice, not ours.
We never promise wind, sails up the whole time, a swim, or a perfect sunset. We promise the boat, the crew and the afternoon. Rio usually takes care of the rest.
